I hope your holidays were amazing! This is the letter that we send out with our holiday cards this year. I thought it would be fun to share it here too!
I think I say this every year but oh man there were a lot of changes in our lives this year!
The biggest news is that Pat and I both took new jobs. We’re now both working full-time in the ‘East Bay’ just over the bridge from San Francisco.
Pat took a job at The North Face doing retail planning at their corporate office. It’s been a great shift for him to be at a company with an outdoors focus, and the discounts on gear don’t hurt either!
He continues to ride (one of his five) bikes every chance he gets and has done trips to Northern California, Lake Tahoe and Santa Cruz. This is definitely an incredible part of the country for riding, especially mountain biking.
I’m now working in an intensive care nursery (NICU) in Berkeley and it’s been an amazing change. I love my patients, the people I work with and the job itself. I’m also continuing to work in the Pediatric ICU in San Francisco and also in Urgent Care.
The blog continues to keep me busy and this year I also made the official foray into YouTube. The learning curve for video and video editing is intense but luckily I’m enjoying the process. I’ve also been doing more photography projects too. My best friend Cynthia and I just wrapped up a big project for a large hotel chain and I have several wine and restaurant clients on retainer as well.
Our big trip this year was Iceland. What a crazy, magical untamed place! We were totally overwhelmed by the huge waterfalls, hot springs and natural wonders.
We also took a road trip through Arizona and Utah, stopping at Zion National Park and Antelope Canyon.
Even better than these big adventures was the precious time we had at home, enjoying our morning coffee and taking Maddie to the beach. There’s nothing like an 80-hour work week to make you appreciate quality time at home.
2018 promises to bring even more fun as we already have trips to United Kingdom and Glacier National Park lined up!
Thank you so much for all your love and support this year.
P.S. – Interested in seeing our previous holiday letters?
