Edible Luster Dust (I used purple and pink)
1 dozen store-bought (or homemade) powdered sugar donuts
Edible flowers
2 cups powdered sugar, plus more as needed
2 tablespoons milk
Gel food coloring

Instructions

Divide the powdered sugar into three bowls.
In the first bowl, stir in pink luster dust, 1/4 teaspoon at a time, until evenly combined and to the saturation of your choice. Repeat with purple luster dust and the second bowl of powdered sugar. In the third bowl, add both purple and pink luster dust to get a color that is midway between the two colors.
Mix powdered sugar and milk. The mixture should be hard to stir but still flow off of a spoon in a thick column.
Add a small amount of gel food coloring to get the color of your choice.
Spread over the top half of donut.
Top with edible flowers and sprinkles.
