Cape Town Hotel – The Tintswalo Atlantic

Best Sunsets in Cape Town, South Africa

The Tintswalo Atlantic Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa is absolutely the definition of five star accommodation. We were so lucky to spend two nights there as part of our recent Cape Town adventure. It was a magical two days filled with relaxation, amazing food and incredible sunsets.

Every detail at the Tintswalo carefully thought out and the staff go out of the way to make sure our stay was special and comfortable. We were greeted with a smile and a glass of iced tea on arrival. The room was always stocked with pods for our coffee machine (we basically drink coffee around the clock) and there was an international outlet where we could charge our electronics.

When we returned from dinner each night, our bed was turned down and the candles were lit. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated. Each one has a theme, and I loved the seashore vibes and neutral palette of ours. There was also a general sense of warmth and welcoming from every single member of the staff.Luxury Cape Town Hotel Recommendation South Africa - Tintswalo AtlanticLuxury Cape Town Hotel Recommendation South Africa - Tintswalo AtlanticLuxury Cape Town Hotel Recommendation South Africa - Tintswalo AtlanticLuxury Cape Town Hotel Recommendation South Africa - Tintswalo Atlantic

The resort actually burned down in a forest fire last spring, and has only been reopened for a few months. From talking with the staff, it sounds like things are better than ever. They used the rebuild as an opportunity to take their accommodations and facilities to the next level.Best-Luxury-Hotels-Cape-Town-0806

Breakfast was incredible. I’ve never experienced anything like it. The meal starts with platters of baked goods, fancy cheeses, lox, charcuterie, and fruits. Then there’s fruit, yogurt and granola, and finally a full menu of hot dishes like English breakfast and eggs benedict. Not to mention fresh mango juice and amazing coffee drinks. Basically enough food that we were full until late afternoon!

Dinner was also similarly thoughtful and delicious. First were canapés, followed by four amazing courses of some of the best food we had in Cape Town. Their wine list is amazing and the staff were able to give recommendations for what would go best with our meal. We liked our pairings so much that we ended up purchasing several of the bottles in Duty Free on the way home.

The restaurant at the Tintswalo Atlantic is open to the public, but make sure you get a reservation as their dining room is small and guests get first priority on tables.

The location is stunning and is a reason in itself to stay at the Tintswalo. It’s the only hotel located within Table Mountain nature reserve, located away from the hustle and bustle of the city. At night, the only sound you hear are the waves lapping up against the shore just feed from your room. I mean, just look at this! It’s just you, the ocean and mountains all around.Luxury Cape Town Hotel Recommendation South Africa - Tintswalo AtlanticLuxury Cape Town Hotel Recommendation South Africa - Tintswalo Atlantic

Their hammock is also probably one of the best places to catch sunset in Cape Town. The combination of the rocky beach, waves crashing on shore and views of Hout Bay is pretty magical.

Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about our time at the Tintswalo Atlantic. It exceeded our expectations for location, service, comfort, and food. We highly recommend it if you are looking for a luxury Cape Town hotel or wedding venue.

You absolutely HAVE TO! It’s one of my favorite places in the whole world, and there’s so much outside of Cape Town that we have yet to explore.
