I love reading fashion blogs with daily outfit posts. If gives me inspiration on how to put together clothes that I already own, and every once in a while inspires me to buy a new staple for my wardrobe. Although the girls always look beautiful and at ease (some of them do this for a living), sometimes I wonder how much work goes into putting together each post.
First, you have to find someone who is willing to take pictures of you every day. They also have to be decently talented so you look like you just walked out of a magazine page for every post.
And then there is location. It has to be just the right spot for every outfit. They make it look easy, but I suspect there is a whole lot more calculation going on behing the scenes than the girls let on.
One of our last weekends together before I left for California, Pat and I packed a picnic lunch and headed out to the country. I love maxi dresses for pretty much any occasion, but especially for those that involve sitting on the ground. Maxis allow full coverage in even the most awkward of situations. Sitting cross-legged? Check. Climbing over a fence (wait, you don’t do that in your maxi dress)? Check. Squatting in a field of wildflowers? Check.
In summary, that’s how I found myself in a field of wildflowers, wearing a maxi dress, mugging for the camera. I’m ridiculous.
But oh-so-loved by this man.
