Phoenix is a foodie paradise. Check out this Phoenix food guide for where to eat, what to drink and where to go for the tastiest, most Instagrammable dishes on the Phoenix, AZ food scene!

Where to Eat in Phoenix Arizona - Restaurant & Food Guide

Excuse the terrible pun, but the food scene in Phoenix, Arizona is heating up faster than the weather!  While Cynthia and I were visiting last month we were totally blown away by how many amazing restaurants and bars they have. They have cool coffee shops, fine dining, comfort food and even a speakeasy or two! There’s truly something for any palate whether you’re on a health food kick or you want to overindulge.

Headed to Phoenix? Here is where you have to eat next time you’re in town…

Where to Eat – Food Guide Phoenix, AZ

? Farm to Table to Fork (to belly)? at @beckettstable in Phoenix! Fun fact, that hand in the upper right is Chef Beckett’s! ?#handmodel ?? Thanks for the recommendation @visitphoenix! #phxjourneys #myphx #onthetable

1. Beckett’s Table Phoenix

Easily a highlight of our time in Phoenix. It’s not much to look at on the outside, but don’t be fooled! This is some of the finest dining in Phoenix. Chef Beckett provides sophisticated comfort food not to mention amazing service. As the dishes arrived at our table we were blown away by their variety and taste. He incorporates local produce into many of the dishes making it a true farm-to-table experience. I think the thing that impressed me most though was that his vegetable-based dishes were just as amazing as his meat dishes. People go crazy for his famous short ribs but I loved his farmer’s market vegetable platter just as much.

Chef stopped by our table and was even gracious enough to pose as a hand model for the photo above! Fun fact – he told us that he’s never tried one of the most popular items on their menu – their chocolate dipped bacon s’mores. He has a peanut allergy!

What to Order: Beckett’s Table Signature Fork Tender Short Ribs, Beckett’s Original Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup, Chocolate Dipped Bacon S’mores (I had a hard time narrowing it down here)

Undertow Speakeasy Tiki Bar - Phoenix AZ

2. UnderTow Phoenix

If you’re lucky enough to score a table, you have to stop by UnderTow for a drink while you’re in Phoenix. Hidden below a coffee shop this tiki bar meet speakeasy meets cocktail lounge. The coffee shop above used to be an auto shop and UnderTow is nestled in the space where the car lift went up and down! The decor has over-the-top pirate ship vibes with fishing nets, carved tribal sculptures, glass baubles and so much more. It’s a feast for the eyes.

UnderTow is super tiny and feels extremely exclusive, like you’re getting filled in on a juicy secret. If you’re feeling extra fancy, splurge on the Mallory’s Treasure, an exotic old fashioned-esque drink that is served in a smoking treasure chest. It has 18-year Rhum Agricole, Japanese whisky and orange bitters. It’s a showstopper and worth the $35 price tag.

If you’re thinking about visiting UnderTow, a reservation is a must.

What to Order: Smoking Cannon (bourbon, rum, French Amer Amontillado sherry, pineapple, Arizona bitters, cinnamon smoke), Spoils of War (fishbowl drink that serves 2-4), Mallory’s Treasure

Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Bar Downtown Phoenix AZ

3. Bitter & Twisted Phoenix

Bitter & Twisted might be the best cocktail bar in Phoenix. Their drinks are artistic, whimsical and delicious. They are also as visually appealing as they are tasty, with beautiful garnishes like hand spun fairy floss. Their drinks are served in everything from honey bear jars to Coca Cola cans and there’s something for everyone on their menu.

Speaking of menus, the menus themselves are works of art. Each is carefully illustrated and cleverly titled. While we were there, the theme was fairy tales. Every page was mesmerizing! You can see a few pages below. In an ironic twist, Bitter & Twisted is actually located inside the former Arizona Prohibition Headquarters. We didn’t eat there, but apparently they have a great food menu as well.

What to Order: Lemongrass Collins, Bear Witness (served in a honey jar)

4. Churn Ice Cream Phoenix

If you’re looking for ice cream in Phoenix, have a scoop, or four, at Churn Ice Cream Parlor! It’s conveniently located next to Windsor restaurant (see below) meaning you can start your meal with a burger and loaded potato chips and finish with a waffle cone. Pretty much best case scenario. Not only is their ice cream amazing, the parlor is super charming with a bright red and white color scheme and a cassette tape wall. You can also indulge without guilt – their ice creams are all natural with no stabilizers, chemicals or preservatives.

Tipsy Tea Camby Hotel Phoenix Arizona - High Tea

5. Tipsy Tea Party at the Camby Hotel Phoenix

Traditional high tea gets a boozy upgrade at Tipsy Tea at the Camby Hotel in Phoenix. It’s the most fun and prettiest way to spend the afternoon with your girlfriends.  and cocktails – all served in tea pots with pretty tea cups! You can also enjoy an assortment of savory and sweet finger foods as your sip.

My favorite part was the finale – bite sized sweets served in a cookie tin on a bed of sprinkles! If you have a chance, make sure you spend a bit of time wandering around the Camby Hotel. It’s super unique and their decor is amazing.

What to Order: Verbena Dream cocktail and the dessert platter, served on sprinkles!

7. Short Leash Hot Dogs & Rollover Donuts Phoenix

Short Leash Hot Dogs got their start as a food truck Their crazy hot dogs are served in naan which is absolutely genius. I’ll never eat a hot dog in a regular bun again! Their menu is full of imaginative flavors, from savory to even a little sweet. Their signature flavor is the Bear hot dog – Gouda, bacon and caramel corn, and drizzled with peanut butter and barbecue sauce. It was a bit too sweet for my taste but people love it! I liked the slightly more Moki dog with green chiles, sauteed onions, chopped tomatoes, pinto beans, cheddar cheese, and mayonnaise. Don’t forget to check out their dog wall of fame on the way to the bathroom with endearing notes about who they are loved by.

Also in the same location is Rollover Doughnuts. Their colorful brioche donuts are made from scratch every morning and definitely worth the indulgence.

Stock & Stable Restaurant Phoenix, AZ Review

9. Stock & Stable Restaurant Phoenix

If you’re in the mood for a hearty meal where even the brussels sprouts somehow manage to be a splurge, check out Stock & Stable restaurant. Stock & Stable also had some of the friendliest service of our trip, which says a lot because we had incredible service everywhere we went! They also have a secret speakeasy upstairs called Honor Amongst Thieves that has comfy overstuffed couches and serious throwback vibes.

What to Order: Kung Pao Cauliflower, Beer Butt Chicken
