Grand Velas Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is an all-inclusive resort with some of the best restaurants in Cabo, spacious rooms and top-notch service.
This month I was lucky enough to spend a long weekend with my friend Molly relaxing in Cabo. Our home base was Grand Velas Los Cabos, an all-inclusive resort. The resort has incredible world-class restaurants and beautiful decor, and all the amenities you could dream of. It was an amazing way to spend my first time in Cabo!
Review of Grand Velas Los Cabos
Grand Velas Los Cabos is part of the Grand Velas resort group. They also have two other properties in Riviera Nayarit and Riviera Maya. The Los Cabos property is outside of Cabo San Lucas, just 35 minutes from the Cabo airport. All rooms are ocean-facing and overlook their multiple infinity pools. It’s so serene and the pops of pink flowers on the balconies are soooo pretty!
The pools have poolside dining (a must) and you can grab food from their buffet restaurant, Azul.
It’s hard to not be blown away by how beautiful this property is.
My number one priority when choosing a place to stay in Cabo was exceptional food. This was my first experience at an all-inclusive resort. I figured the convenience wouldn’t make sense if we were stuck somewhere were the food was only ok.
Grand Velas has seven amazing and individually unique restaurants that will satisfy even the pickiest eater. It was basically heaven having all these amazing dining options right outside our door.
Cocina de Autor Restaurant – Grand Velas, Cabo, Mexico
Cocina de Autor is Grand Velas’s premiere restaurant. It’s headed by Head Chef Sidney Schutte who also runs the two Michelin starred restaurant Spectrum in Amsterdam. Cocina de Autor was recommended by many of you when I asked for Cabo recommendations on Instagram.
The food is truly Michelin level. The set tasting menu was eight courses. Each course was unique and packed with flavor and beautifully presented. They were wonderfully complex with incredible details. At the end we were full without being totally stuffed.

Azul Restaurant Grand Velas Los Cabos
We were frequent visitors to Azul, Grand Velas’s all-you-can eat buffet. It was totally massive and had a lot of healthy options, which I appreciated! Every day the food was completely different – and the desserts! Little works of art. I wish I could eat like this every day – the perfect mix of healthy and indulgent.
Frida’s is Grand Velas’s signature Mexican restaurant. They really elevate Mexican food to gourmet status. Presentation is half the fun with many dishes having multiple components or sauces poured on at your table. The decor at Frida’s was my favorite in the resort. Those plush velvet chairs are absolutely mesmerizing!
Piaf Restaurant, Grand Velas Los Cabos
Our last night in Cabo we ate at Piaf, Grand Velas’s French restaurant. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about eating French food in Mexico.
Talk about being totally blown away.
This was some of the best French food I’ve ever eaten. It was surprisingly delicate and really unique. It was definitely a refreshing and modern take on traditional French cuisine.

In addition to amazing food, the decor is absolutely beautiful. It’s modern and tasteful without being garish. Each restaurant has it’s own unique design.
Even the quiet nooks and crannies were thoughtfully decorated.
Rooms at Grand Velas Los Cabos
I stayed in a Grand Class Suite at Grand Velas Los Cabos. How amazing is this incredibly beautiful and spacious room? It had every comfort you could imagine, from a Nespresso machine to a giant bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.
All of the 304 suites at Grand Velas Los Cabos are over 1,100 square feet. Some also have additional wellness options like a private yoga instructor and special healthy dining options.
As if that wasn’t enough, this is the view from the balcony:
And speaking of the balcony…
I loved having my own private plunge pool on the balcony. This would be such a romantic option for a honeymoon or wedding!
Even with all the amazing dining options available, there’s nothing like spoiling yourself with a little room service!
Spa at Grand Velas Los Cabos, Mexico
If you’re in the mood for some pampering, Grand Velas has a world-class spa experience. Make sure you set aside enough time to try their Spa Water Journey. The experience is a series of showers, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and a chilly, but refreshing, polar pool.
It was a really unique and refreshing experience!
This was such an amazing getaway and I can’t recommend Grand Velas Los Cabos enough if you’re looking for a premium all-inclusive resort in Cabo.We can’t wait to check out the other Grand Velas properties!
