What’s a party without a photobooth!? Here’s an easy DIY to make your own gold New Years photobooth with just a few materials. How to Make an Easy Gold Fringe Photobooth for a New Year's Party!

I love photobooths. They are SO easy and instantly take your event from party to PARTY! With just a few materials and a few minutes you can make this fun gold fringe photobooth backdrop for your New Year’s party this year.

I invited my girls from The Violet Fog to come over and help me out. Because, you know, what’s a photobooth without girlfriends to take a million selfies with?!

I asked Cynthia and Katey to pick our their favorite party dresses from Zappos to show off during the shoot for this homademade photobooth. Zappos has so much more than shoes these days. It’s my go-to place for pretty much any designer and label you can think of, from affordable to fancy. And they still offer their amazing free two day shipping with free returns.

I thought the variety of looks we chose was great. Totally on-trend! I loved the fierce gold gold metallics of this Vince Camuto dress (similar // similar // similar), whereas Cynthia picked a girly floral Vince Camuto number (similar // similar) that looked stunning on her! Don’t let the springtime vibes fool you, florals are always in season. After much deliberation (as always), stylist in real life. Katey chose a little black Ted Baker dress (similar) with a figure skater silhouette. We’re all currently addicted to rose gold jewelry. Delicate midi rings that make sure your Instagram hand game will be on point.

Putting together the photo booth was super easy. I used three gold fringe door curtains from a local party store. They are pretty thin, so put two next to each other and then one on top in the center. I used painter’s tape to hang them up.

I thought it would be fun to document all of our New Year’s resolutions. It was easy to upcycle a mini dry erase board with some gold glitter and ‘2016’ numbers. How to Make an Easy Gold Fringe Photobooth for a New Year's Party! How to Make an Easy Gold Fringe Photobooth for a New Year's Party!
And what’s a New Year’s party (even a fake one!) without champagne? Cheers friends! I can’t wait to see you back here in 2016.Awesome Inspiration for New Year's Eve Party Design and ThemesAwesome Inspiration for New Year's Eve Party Design and Themes

  1. Use painter’s tape to hang up the black paper or fabric to cover the area of your photobooth on a wall or a doorframe (that you won’t be using for your party) with the door closed.
  2. Use painter’s tape to hang up two gold fringe curtains next to each other on top of the black paper/fabric. Overlap the third in the center.
  3. Cut stars out from the gold tagboard. I printed out a gold star shape and used it as a stencil. Tape them onto the fringe using painter’s tape.
  4. Set up your camera on the tripod. Use this tutorial for information on photobooth camera settings.
  5. For the resolution dry erase board, use the sponge brush to cover the frame of the board with glue. Sprinkle on gold glitter. Attach 2016 letters and stars with a dab of glue. Let dry.
