The luxurious Midland Hotel in Manchester, United Kingdom with a peek at The French, Mr. Cooper’s and The Tea Room, the Midland’s three restaurants. The Midland is the place to stay in Manchester. It’s the choice of diplomats, bigwigs and celebrities. It was also the obvious choice for a Manchester adventure for two avid foodies – me (duh) and my blogger BFF Cynthia! The Midland has three separate restaurants in the hotel and naturally we ate at each of them.

Review of the Midland Hotel Manchester
The French Restaurant by Adam Reid
For fine dining in Manchester, look no further than The French restaurant at the Midland Hotel. The setting it truly glamorous, with high ceilings and two massive crystal ball chandeliers, and decor with shades of grey and gold.
Our tasting menu was thoughtful and inventive – and surprisingly filling for a tasting menu! My favorite thing on the menu was dessert – shaped like a clementine and filled with a heavenly mix of passion fruit and white chocolate. So beautiful and even better – delicious!
The service was outstanding and our menu was very reasonably priced for a six course menu of this caliber.
We also had a chance to talk with head chef Adam Reid and he even gave us a tour of the kitchen! He was incredibly friendly and even gave us a couple of recommendations for other places to eat in Manchester. Find out where in my Manchester city guide.

Mr. Cooper’s House & Garden at the Midland
The Midland Hotel has an expansive daily breakfast buffet to enjoy at their restaurant Mr. Cooper’s House & Garden. It has everything – fresh coffee, pastries, waffles, fresh fruit, sausage, and more! In true blogger fashion we convinced the hotel staff help us cart some dishes up to our room for breakfast in bed. Everything is better when enjoyed on a massive king sized bed with your best friend documenting the experience….right?

High Tea at the Midland Hotel
Nothing is more British than high tea and the newly reopened Tea Room at the Midland Hotel is the place to get high teach in Manchester! We loved all the unique savories and desserts and we obviously splurged on champagne. Each little treat was like a bite of art and scones with clotted cream is the stuff dreams are made of. They also have vegetarian, gluten-free and even vegan high tea menu options available.

The Midland Hotel Rooms
The rooms are huge with high ceilings and lots of space to hang out. Every thing is chic and neutral with a few pops of color. One of my favorite things about hotel travel is having a massive king sized bed! There’s nothing like sleeping all sprawled out on spotless white linen.
The Midland also has the friendly and attentive service you’d expect at a high-end hotel. Everyone from the wait staff to the doorman went out of their way to be kind and make our stay feel personalized.
