If you’re wondering where to stay in Hong Kong, Kerry Hotel has everything you need – great location, amazing amenities, warm service, modern rooms and some of the best food in Hong Kong! Read on for a review of the hotel as well as a look at their many restaurants!
Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong checks all my boxes for what I’m looking at in a hotel when I travel – great location, modern but comfortable decor, thoughtful service, every amenity you can think of and some of the best dining options in Hong Kong. I’ve already recommended it to three friends who were planning trips to Hong Kong and they’ve come home raving about it!
Photo Room Tour at Kerry Hotel
Even though there are almost 550 rooms at Kerry Hotel, it still manages to feel like a small urban boutique hotel. It’s very quiet and we didn’t have any issues with hearing our neighbors through the hotel room walls. Carpeted rooms mean no footsteps overhead either.
The rooms have all the amenities you would expect at a top rate hotel, such as a Nespresso machine, ample closet space, comfortable mattresses and linens, and my favorite – the ability to control all the room lights from a small switch by your bed.
In a town where a shoebox apartment costs multiple millions of dollars, space comes at a premium. The rooms at Kerry Hotel are huge. Look how small that king sized bed looks in the photos!
Bathrooms are also spacious, well-lit and modern.
Also can we talk about the welcome statue that you get? I thought for sure it was a stone decoration on the tray of sweets that were awaiting me on arrival but it’s actually a chocolate replica of a statue in the hotel lobby. If my suitcase hadn’t already been 20 pounds overweight I totally would have taken it home to nibble on as a souvenir from the trip.
Pro tip? Ask for a harbor view room to take advantage of their waterfront views of the Hong Kong skyline.

Kerry Hotel Location
Kerry Hotel is located on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, right on the waterfront. It is just a few blocks from the Whampoa MTR station making it incredibly easy to get wherever you need to go in Hong Kong. We absolutely fell in love with public transportation in Hong Kong. It’s cheap, clean, efficient and safe and often you can get where you need to go just as fast as if you took a taxi! Being close to a train station is definitely something you should look for when choosing a hotel. There are also a ton of restaurant and shopping options near the Kerry due to its proximity to the Tsim Sha Tsui East shopping district.
Restaurants at Kerry Hotel Hong Kong
I actually have a couple of friends in Hong Kong now on business and I recommended they visit The Kerry for dinner even though they are staying at the conference hotel. These aren’t just “let’s eat at the hotel because it’s convenient” restaurants. They are food destinations. Whether you are in the mood for dim sum or a cocktail, the restaurants at the Kerry are definitely on my Hong Kong ‘Must Eat’ list.
Kerry Hotel also received full Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) meaning all of their amazing seafood is sustainably fished in a way that minimizes environmental impact.
Hung Tong Restaurant – The Best Dim Sum in Hong Kong?
OMG give me all the dim sum! Despite living in San Francisco, I was a total dim sum novice before my visit to Hong Kong. By having Kerry’s Hung Tong as my first dim sum experience I basically doomed my chances of ever having another meal live up. Every dish is a little piece of art. We’re talking edible gold leaf on dumplings, goose puffs in the actual shape of geese and abalone tarts you just want to faceplant into. I think this was my favorite meal in Hong Kong.
You don’t have to take my word for it though. Cynthia is a dim sum connoisseur and she called it “mind-blowing and creative”! Just make sure you call ahead for a reservation – this is one of the hottest tables in Hong Kong.
What to Order:Â Deep Fried Roasted Goose & Mushroom Puffs, Pan Fried Wagyu Beef Buns, Diced Abalone & Chicken Puffs, Steamed Scallop & Shrimp Dumplings with Asparagus plus pretty much everything else on the menu!

Red Sugar at Kerry Hotel – Hong Kong Rooftop Bar
The best spot in town for happy hour is at Red Sugar, Kerry Hotel’s rooftop bar overlooking the Hong Kong waterfront. They have delicious – and beautiful – cocktails and a small bar menu as well as a huge craft beer menu. My favorite was their Lucky Cat cocktail served in a Japanese lucky cat glass (maneki-neko) glass.
What to Order:Â Lucky Cat Cocktail, Popcorn Sour Cocktail.

Dockyard Food Court at Kerry Hotel
If you’re looking for fun and interactive, I highly recommend checking out Dockyard, a food court style restaurant at Kerry Hotel. They have an assortment of different restaurants that you can order from that offer everything from sushi to
They also have their own app, meaning you can order from all the places and the food will be magically brought to your table. This makes it super easy for eating with a group and satisfying picky eaters or those with dietary restrictions.

Big Bay Cafe All You Can Eat Buffet at Kerry Hotel
I’ve never seen anything like the Big Bay Cafe. It’s absolutely massive and has pretty much every food you can think of, from sushi to peking duck to fondue. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet (challenge accepted!) and was the perfect first meal for us when we arrived in Hong Kong. Talking about diving right in!

As you might expect, room service at the Kerry can’t be beat! The breakfast menu is miles long and checks all my boxes, from yogurt parfait to dim sum.
What to Order: Lobster Roll, Eggs Benedict, Granola & Yogurt
Relaxation Time at Kerry Hotel Pool
We visited Hong Kong in late March and the weather was absolutely perfect. It was warm and sunny during the day but not so crazy humid that you felt you were going to melt into a puddle. Luckily it was just warm enough to enjoy the beautiful infinity pool at Kerry Hotel with its expansive views of Hong Kong. If you’re looking for a workout, the pool is actually long enough to swim laps!

Gym with a View
It gets a whole lot easier to be motivated to work out when your sweat is rewarded with stunning views of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour. I hate spin with a passion but if there’s anything that’s going to have me biking in place for an hour it’s Kerry Hotel’s gym.
With the smog in Hong Kong I was worried about running outside, so I was grateful the gym was so nice! I actually worked out every day while we were there, which is a huge accomplishment for me while traveling.
The Bay Club at Kerry Hotel
Kerry Hotel has an amazing eighth floor club lounge that you have to check out. If you book a club room or suite, lounge access is included in your stay. The lounge breakfast is unbelievable. You’ll find an assortment of hot and cold breakfast items and rows and rows of the prettiest pastries you’ve ever seen. My favorite was the little yogurt cups in glass jars. They are in the fridge right near the door and are absolutely not to be missed. Trust me!
The lounge also gives you access to beverages and freshly brewed Nespresso all day long and evening small bites and canapés.
Pro Tip: If you join the Golden Circle club, you can exchange money for free at the Bay Club front desk.

Kafnu at Kerry Hotel Coworking Space
As if the list of amenities isn’t long enough already, Kerry Hotel actually has a coworking space called Kafnu. The space is super high-tech and has things like art installations, robots controlled by iPhones, games, a kitchen and my favorite – candy jars!
