Spread the Joy - Juju Sprinkles

Is it me, or are we already in the middle of the holiday rush? I’m not talking about the holiday decorations in stores, but more that subtle internal feeling of internal anxiety to cook with pumpkin spice and to start thinking about holiday gifts (or gift guides if you’re a blogger). If you’re a blogger, my guess is you’re probably feeling the pressure.

One of the personal challenges I have as a blogger is bring you timely seasonal content. I started getting emails in August from blogging newsletters that I subscribe to encouraging me to ‘think about pumpkin spice’ and telling me that ‘chocolate peppermint drinks are starting to trend on Pinterest.” I mean, here it is almost Halloween and there hasn’t been even a whiff of pumpkin to be found at Casa Sweet. No wonder I’m feeling the pressure I guess.

Tell me, if you’re a blogger, how do you deal with the challenge to keep things seasonal? If you don’t blog, do you expect to find seasonally-inspired recipes on your favorite blogs?

Here are a few of my favorite posts that I’ve shared lately…

I recently had the chance to visit Eastern Washington wine country. I’m just started to share my adventures from that trip.

This DIY photobooth backdrop is so colorful and the .gif in the post is one of my favorite of all time.

I still have all of these succulent centerpieces scattered around the house. They turned out so well and every time I look at them they make me smile.

I shared one of my top-secret Instagram tips for ‘scheduling’ your Instagram posts in advance.

Oh, I’ve been popping up other places around the internet too:

My party balloon centerpiece was published on Martha Stewart (!)

I was named an ‘San Francisco Foodie to Follow‘ by local online mag, The Bold Italic

I shared my favorite place for brunch in San Francisco on The Violet Fog

I shared my moment of joy on the gorgeous blog Juju Sprinkles. She also designed the pretty graphic at the top of this post.

Here are some other things I’ve been loving around the web…

Apple Cheddar Scones are perfect for fall.

These caramel, lavender and fleur de sel lollipops from my friend Anita’s new cookbook.

I wish my hair looked like this every day.

Nina’s grandma makes the best cookies.

Neville Longbottom turned out to be a BABE.

Eminem’s daughter is also a BABE.

Runway makeup IRL.

Mini dutch babies are better than regular dutch babies.

100 years of wedding dresses – this is AMAZING!

You’ve been a busy bee lately, Kelly! I do love following your adventures (and food). And YES to my little dog being a joy in my day too. 🙂
