A review of the newly renovated Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona including a video room tour, pool information and a look at dining options!
On our recent trip to Phoenix, Cynthia and I had the chance to stay at the newly renovated Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. Looking at photos from before, I can say that the upgrades have been major. The result is tasteful luxury with huge comfortable rooms and a slew of amazing dining options. You really feel like you’re getting the best in style, service and comfort. The friendly staff will make you feel at home as soon as the valets open your car door.
Before we jump in, check out the room tour of the Phoenician in my new Phoenix & Scottsdale video! Room tour starts at the 4:28 mark.
Phoenician Resort Video Room Tour
As you can see in the video at 4:28, the rooms are extremely spacious and beautifully decorated. The cream and blue color scheme is perfect for relaxing and my king sized bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve experienced.
And check out this huge bathroom:
My room had not only a shower but also a huge tub just calling for a bubble bath.
The winding hallways made me feel like I was playing some sort of video game – you really get an idea of how huge the resort really is as you walk to your room.
The Phoenician Resort Hotel Pools
The Phoenician Resort pools are also newly renovated. They are totally modern and gorgeous while retaining that old school feel of luxury that you experience everywhere at The Phoenician. I love the neutral color scheme with pops of orange – it really makes that beautiful turquoise water pop! You also can’t beat the backdrop of Camelback Mountain. In addition to their poolside menu, you can also eat overlooking the pools at Mowry & Cotton. More on that is below.
If you’re traveling with children, they have a designated kid area with a suspension bridge, tree house, pirate ship, spray guns and more. Guests over 42 inches can also enjoy their 197-foot tall twisting water slide.

Mowry & Cotton at The Phoenician Resort
The Phoenician does casual lux with a farm-to-table spin at their restaurant Mowry & Cotton headed by Chef Tandy Peterson. Their extensive menu features thoughtfully created dishes that are beautiful and delicious. There’s truly something for everyone – from heavier dishes like bison and ribs to lighter fare for the vegetable-loving crowd. For dessert I highly recommend their s’mores pie which is a deep dish of chocolatey and marshmallow-y goodness.
You can choose to eat inside in their chic newly remodeled restaurant or dine al fresco with views of the stunning Phoenician pools. More on those directly above this section!
What to Order:Â Wild Mushroom Flatbread, Buttermilk Buns, Warm S’mores Pie

Room Service at The Phoenician
One of my favorite things about staying in a really nice hotel is taking advantage of room service! Nothing says vacation like a good ol’ breakfast in bed – especially a really comfortable king-sized bed. Room service at The Phoenician is tops. You can get all of your favorite breakfast dishes like eggs benedict and pancakes with a few surprises like a healthy quinoa salad with shrimp and a beautiful citrus plate and dates topped with pistachios. Not to mention fresh fruit, strong coffee and this amazing ‘golden elixir’ with turmeric, honey, cinnamon and almond milk.
What to Order: Golden Elixir, Citrus Plate, French Toast

Other Amenities at The Phoenician Resort
Other great options at The Phoenician that we didn’t have the chance to take advantage of include High Tea, J & G Steakhouse for dinner, tennis courts, and a newly opened spa. Something to look forward to next time we visit!
