San Francisco Fashion Week + Jenny Cheng and Batsu Maru

Finally, as promised – a recap of San Francisco Fashion Week! I’ve been reading the recaps of many of the people who attended and have been so jealous of their promptness. Better late then never, I guess?

Definitely by far the best thing about San Francisco Fashion Week was connecting with local designers. For me, that started even before the events. I was so lucky wear two looks from San Francisco-based Jenny Cheng and accessorize with delicate pieces from Batsu Maru. It felt so special to be able to represent local fashion at some of the events throughout the week. I had the chance to meet Maile, the maker behind Batsu Maru at the Brit+Co. Remake event a few weeks ago and I was captivated by her designs.

You can see the look I wore to the opening reception in these photos. Check out the details in the dress! I love the cutouts that show a bit of extra skin without being too sexy.

Here’s how I wore the outfit at San Francisco Fashion Week:

San Francisco Fashion Week + Jenny Cheng and Batsu MaruInspired by my dear friend Caroline (pictured above), I’ve decided to share the occasional outtake from my style posts with you. After all, when you share as many photos of yourself all over the internet, it’s important to not take yourself too seriously! Here’s what happens when that serious face gets just a little too serious. Trust me, this is not as bad as it gets – the best are yet to come!

Thanks Ashley! It’s definitely a strong contrast to the pretty dresses which I thought was cool. Plus, it’s basically my backyard so it was so convenient!

You should! Clearly looking at all the comments everyone’s favorite thing is to watch me make faces while trying to look pretty.
