If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I spent last weekend in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, also known as Oregon’s wine country. I was lucky enough to have the weekend off to meet up with one of my best girlfriends from Wisconsin, Holly. Pat jokes that Holly is the perfect friend for me – she likes to stay as busy as me with a million different hats. In addition to a full time job with a lot of travel with a software company, she’s a wedding photographer, blogger, and a professional cyclist.
Holly and I had the best 48 hour whirlwind trip discovering what Oregon has to offer outside of Portland. Let me tell you, if you’re confining your Oregon experience to Portland, you are missing out. We had absolutely the most amazing time exploring the Willamette Valley and visiting the towns of Corvallis and Albany.
I can’t wait to share all of our adventures and Holly’s amazing photos with you! The blessing and the curse of such an amazing trip is that I have over 1,500 photos to sort through, so this will be a trip you won’t hear the end of for a while. This first set of photos is from outside a pumpkin farm in Albany, Oregon. The outfit is actually one of the looks I wore while sitting front row at San Francisco Fashion Week. I am madly in love with this cape and for this look I paired it with a pair of old back skinny jeans that have a detail that makes me giggle – stirrups! Do you remember stirrup pants from back in the day? They are pretty much all I wore when I was about five years old. They are genius and also are great for wearing with boots. Sadly, this pair is a few years old and I haven’t seen anything like it for a few years.

Because I like to keep it real with y’all, I’m going to answer that question that I know is in the back of your mind. It was absolutely ridiculous to be hobbling through a pumpkin field in high heels and a fancy cape first thing in the morning when the light it just right! Here’s what things really looked like:

I’ve never been to Oregon and would love to see the beautiful natural settings there. Love your outfit and love that you have a photographer friend!!
Thanks so much Ashley! It’s pretty easy to get to where we were – 6 hours by car or a quick flight to Portland. I highly recommend it!
You are adorable. And as anticipated, I couldn’t have said it better.
This was the most amazing trip Holly! I’m so lucky to have you as a travel bud!

I mean… I love the cape and all that, but the behind-the-scenes shot is my FAVE. You are super duper cute.
