Our last stop on our Oregon trip was just before we headed to the airport – Multnomah Falls. Multnomah Falls is one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever been. It’s a 611 foot tall waterfall that is easily accessible by car, meaning it’s very crowded with people. Even so, it was easy to tune out the other visitors and just enjoy the sound of the waterfall and the fine icy mist that covers parts of the trail…. Read More »
24 Hours in Albany, Oregon
Holly and I started off our time in Albany, Oregon with a tour of the historic carousel museum. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Albany is doing a major fundraising effort to build a beautiful hand-carved carousel. When finished, the carousel will have 52 animals and will be powered by an antique carousel mechanism from 1901! Volunteers have already donated over 150,000 hours towards this amazing project. Most volunteers start with little or no carving experience and start training on small pieces of wood. It takes hours before they are allowed to work on the actual animals. We got to watch some of the carvers at work and the amount of detail is incredible!… Read More »

On the recommendations of everyone we talked to, Holly and I made two stops – Emerson Vineyards and Airlie Winery. Both places were amazing and their wines were delicious! Best of all though, the people running them were exceptionally welcoming and passionate about making wine…. Read More »
24 Hours in Corvallis Oregon
Because we were only in Oregon for a couple of days, we had only 24 hours to explore Corvallis. We woke refreshed after an amazing night’s sleep on the Christmas Tree Farm at Donovan Place. Because I was at the peak of my half marathon training, we started the day with a brisk run up Bald Hill…. Read More »
Donovan Christmas Tree Farm in Corvallis, Oregon
Oh my gosh, I’m so excited to finally share some more photos from my recent trip to Oregon with you! We had a memory card malfunction that was almost catastrophic, but things have been sorted out and I promise it was worth the wait.
For this trip, Holly and I really wanted to explore Oregon outside of Portland. We headed about 1.5 hours south of Portland to the Willamette Valley – also known as Oregon’s wine country. Our first stop was the lovely town of Corvallis, where we stayed on the amazing Donovan Place – on a Christmas tree farm!
Fall Cape Action + Oregon Trip
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I spent last weekend in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, also known as Oregon’s wine country. I was lucky enough to have the weekend off to meet up with one of my best girlfriends from Wisconsin, Holly. Pat jokes that Holly is the perfect friend for me – she likes to stay as busy as me with a million different hats. In addition to a full time job with a lot of travel with a software company, she’s a wedding photographer, blogger, and a professional cyclist…. Read More »
