Oh my gosh, I’m so excited to finally share some more photos from my recent trip to Oregon with you! We had a memory card malfunction that was almost catastrophic, but things have been sorted out and I promise it was worth the wait.
For this trip, Holly and I really wanted to explore Oregon outside of Portland. We headed about 1.5 hours south of Portland to the Willamette Valley – also known as Oregon’s wine country. Our first stop was the lovely town of Corvallis, where we stayed on the amazing Donovan Place – on a Christmas tree farm!
It’s basically as magical as it sounds. We stayed directly on the farm surrounded by 13 acres of Christmas trees! The property is owned by two of the loveliest people you will ever meet, Dale and Peggy. There are two rental options – the lower level of the main house or a four bedroom farmhouse.
The Donovan’s also have the capability to host small weddings on the small Asian-inspired patio that you see in these photos.
We woke up to deer in our front yard in the morning.
It was fantastic to be able to stay at a place with a full kitchen and such a nice living space. I already have plans to come back with Pat and stay for longer! Some of the best mountain biking trails in the country are not too far away and I know he would go crazy for the chance to try them out.

As always, here’s an outtake for your viewing pleasure! Aka “that one time jumping out from behind the tree seemed like a really photogenic idea”.

A Quick Stop in Oregon Wine Country
Oh my word, you are so meant to be photographed among Christmas trees. You look absolutely stunning. Magical was a great word to describe this location. I will be in Portland at the beginning of December and am thinking I have a little trip to make…
xx Katie
lovely letters
Lovely lady! You’re absolutely too kind! And up so early! You should absolutely look into sneaking away from Portland proper and checking out the rest of Oregon. I have a handful more posts coming with more tips and places to check out!
Love the outfit and that purse!
Thanks so much Catalina! xx
CLEARLY I need one of these gorgeous felt hats. How ELSE am I supposed to look good popping out from behind Christmas trees?
Bahaha, clearly this hat is my new favorite EVERYTHING!
You can guess which pic is my fave… 😉
Oregon is such a beautiful world. I love that Christmas tree farm!!!!!!
Love Oregon! You guys should stay there next! No hottub though….
I’ve heard that such things as Christmas tree farms exist, and that’s so awesome you actually stayed at one! I love those big ornate barn doors you’re posing in front of. Great scene!
I know, aren’t they lovely. Typically people get married in front of them, but since I’ve been there, done that, I thought a photoshoot was a close second!
These photos are gorgeous and you are SO adorable ^_^ I’ve always wanted to explore more of the PNW outside of the cities I’ve visited — what beautiful country!!!
xo
You’re too nice! You should definitely visit the Willamette Valley when you have the chance. It’s wonderful!
I’ve been wanting to take a road trip to Oregon for so long and this just made me want to even more. It looks absolutely gorgeous! And I love the up close photo of you- the lighting is just beautiful!
Thank you so much Sarah! The drive isn’t that bad and SO scenic!
Gorgeous pics! Glad you enjoyed Donovan Place. The combo of tree farm plus vacation getaway plus art studio is so quirky but so cool!
Thanks so much Jen! It was amazing!
I’ve never been on a Christmas tree farm before, crazy! I kinda want to go! It won’t be the same visiting one at Christmas here in NorCal – but luckily I get to head home to the snow… the only time of year I wish for snow (we hope – if we can get cheap flights).
You should definitely check it out if you have a chance! It’s a great, relaxing escape from the Bay Area.
Pretty photos!! I’m dying over those little deer in your yard. We occasionally get deer in our yard and I get giddy and click-happy every single time.
Thanks lady! We used to have deer in our yard back in Wisconsin, so it definitely made me think of home.
