Wondering where to eat in San Francisco? Check out The Saratoga restaurant in the Tenderloin neighborhood for upscale American classics + amazing cocktails!
Pat and I had a much-needed date night at The Saratoga restaurant in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco last week and I just had to share it here on A Side of Sweet. We loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the cocktails. This place is definitely going on my must-eat list for San Francisco. Here’s a peek at our meal…
Where to Eat in San Francisco – The Saratoga
My hot date for dinner:
Love this guy and the faces he makes when I try to take photos.
As you can see, we started with cocktails. For good reason! The Saratoga has almost 800 spirits on their menu. The bar is absolutely stunning.
And that’s only about a third of it in that photo!
The cocktails were unique a beautiful. There was something on the menu for everyone. Obviously I had to go with the Look at the Flowers, garnished with an edible flower.
The Saratoga dinner menu features elevated American cuisine. You’ll find classics like burgers and caesar salad done in an artful and unique way.
They have a chicken slider that is seasoned with seven spice mixture.
Definitely don’t miss the french fries and this amazing roasted tomato aioli.
I’m obsessed with all things pickled, so we couldn’t pass up this beautiful pickle plate.
You can’t go wrong with soft pretzels. So good!
We also loved the tender and flaky branzino al la plancha with forbidden rice.
The desserts are equal parts whimsical and delicious. We chose cracker jacks, due to my undying love of popcorn, and the cherry hand pie with cream cheese frosting.
The restaurant is located in the former Saratoga Hotel. This beautiful and historic San Francisco building was built in 1908.
We ate upstairs because I loved the natural light and the beautiful bar. Downstairs has more of a cozy supper club vibe that we’ll check out next time. They also serve brunch.
Don’t take my word for it! Try The Saratoga for yourself:
