A Little Bit About Kelly
I’m on a mission to help you feel balanced and confident in an often hectic world. Like you, I understand the importance of balance – in addition to being a blogger, I’m also a pediatrician and a wife. Needless to say, things can get pretty busy!
I live in San Francisco, California with my husband, Pat, and our puppy, Maddie. We moved to San Francisco from Wisconsin in 2013 to start new jobs and a new adventure a few days after getting married!
I’m so lucky to have found a man who will run across the world with me and be a partner to me in everything I do. In the past six years, we’ve explored the souks of Morocco, ridden in an old time convertible in Havana, Cuba and surfed in Cape Town, South Africa. You’ll find stories from our adventures on this blog.
This blog is a place for projects that Pat and I do, things I bake and things I create. It’s also where I share tips for things to do in San Francisco as we explore this amazing city. You can see what I’m up to real time on Instagram. I really love sharing what’s going on outside of the blog on these platforms and I’d love to connect with you there too. Thanks for stopping by.
xo,
Kelly
FAQs
Do you blog full time?
If your definition of blogging full time is working forty hours per week, then I absolutely blog full time – and then some! I also have another full time job though – I’m a physician and I work at in an intensive care nursery here in SF. I love taking care of all the tiny preemie babies and newborns.
How do you manage having two full time jobs?
I always joke that my life feels like it’s 30 seconds from imploding at any given time. Luckily I’m extremely efficient, very organized and…a workaholic. I’m proud to be able to do blogging and photography as a job. Having something I’m so passionate about makes it easy to work long hours. Another thing I prioritize is taking care of myself – getting enough sleep and working out regularly are key to keeping life running smoothly. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m a total foodie, so fitness is so important to keep me feeling balanced and confident.
Who takes your photos?
Unless I’m in the photo, chances are I took it. I love photography of all kinds, but especially travel and food photography. If I’m in the photo or didn’t take it I’ll give credit to the photographer. We also sometimes use a self timer to take photos of us as a couple.
Can I share your recipe on my site/blog/social media account?
You are welcome to reproduce my recipes in your own words, but you cannot cut and paste recipes from my site without my consent. You are also welcome to share a photo as long as the article includes a link back to my website and there is photo credit underneath the photo. When in doubt, just send me an email! I’ll be happy to clarify and we can even discuss licensing my photos and recipes. Please do not share my photos on social media unless I give you permission.
Do you do sponsored content?
I’m proud to be able to make a bit of money doing my blog by sharing sponsored content. I only partner with brands that I really love and share things that I think my readers will be interested in! I’ve been lucky to work with some of my favorite brands like Target, Anthropologie, Williams-Sonoma, Macy’s, and Virgin Atlantic to bring you useful and beautiful content. If you’re a brand and want to work together, feel free to send me an email.
I also enjoy photography and recipe development. I’ve been lucky enough to do both of these things as a side career. If you’re looking for a beautifully-photographed original recipe for your business, let’s talk!
Do you do product reviews?
I rarely do strict product reviews due to time constrains. I prefer to focus on producing high quality content that my readers will find valuable. No fluff.
What camera do you use?
Most of my photos are shot with my Nikon D750 full frame DSLR camera. I have several lenses but my favorite are my 24-70mm lens and my 105 mm lens.
I also recently purchased a Sony A7sii which is what I use for most of my travel photos and also all the videos on my YouTube channel. I use a 24-70mm lens for this camera as well, as well as a 16-32mm lens. I love this camera because it’s lightweight, easy to use and does great in low light. It also has one of the best auto focus capabilities for video that you can find on the market.
What software do you use to make Youtube Videos?
All videos on my Youtube channel have been edited with Final Cut Pro X.
