Holiday Party Makeup Tutorial Ideas

Hi pretties! I hope you had a great holiday! 2014 was a great year, but I’m so looking forward to 2015 – and all of those New Year’s Parties!

Experimenting with new makeup looks is one of my favorite things. I have just one rules for new makeup looks. I want to wear the makeup, not have the makeup to wear me. Bare Minerals is always my go-to when I’m buying new makeup. I know I can trust them for high quality, good-value looks that will look great and stay on all night.

Holiday kits are a great way to load up on new makeup without spending a fortune. I looked to the selection from Bare Minerals to help me try out a new look that will be perfect for ringing in the new year! Most of the makeup I used for this look is from the Bare Minerals Vision of Light kit. As a bonus, the kit is on sale right now meaning you can get an entire look worth of make up for next to nothing.

Before and After Holiday Makeup Look Tutorial

This look is all about highlighting your natural glow and making your eyes pop, without having to cake makeup on! Think yourself, just with a few gentle upgrades! The eyes are the stars here, with a brown smoky eye complimented by a pretty mauve lip. Highlighter is a must for flawless skin. Who needs photoshop when you can just dab on some highlighter!? This look is perfect for those upcoming New Year’s Eve parties.

Step By Step Makeup TutorialStart with your face prepped. For me that means primer, concealer and Bare Minerals bareSkin foundation.

Step By Step Makeup Tutorial

Blend a loose dark brown eye shadow into the outer contour of your eye. To do this I used a tapered eyeshadow brush.

Brown Smoky Eye Makeup TutorialNext, apply a loose champagne or gold shimmery eyecolor over your entire lid, blending it with the brown. Line the upper lash line and lower outer lash line with a bronze eyeliner.
Volumizing Mascara Tutorial

Coat your lashes with your favorite volumizing mascara. I made my eyes pop by using multiple coats on the top and the bottom of my lashes.

Using highlighter makeup tutorial

Using a blush brush, buff a small amount of a warm peach blush over the apples of your cheeks.

Using highlighter makeup tutorial

My favorite part – dab a tiny bit of highlighter anywhere the light hits – your cupid’s bow, the bridge of your nose, your brow bone and your cheekbones.

Bare Minerals Party Makeup Tutorial

Finish by dusting your face with finishing powder and coating your lips with a mauve lipgloss!

You glow girl! Go ring in the new year with confidence that you look flawless!
