When did Moscow mules get so trendy? Mule mugs went from a “what is that funny cup?” to a staple on every bar cart in about 2.5 seconds flat. While I love a good mule, sometimes it’s fun to switch it up. I love this fun variation on the Moscow mule featuring Tuaca liqueur! It makes the mule cocktail sweeter and lighter. Bonus – when you serve it, you’ll be setting the trend instead of following it.
Everyone I have served the Tuaca Mule to has raved about it and asked for the recipe! Luckily it’s super easy to whip up and requires just three ingredients.
You might be wondering what Tuaca is. It’s a vanilla citrus liqueur that originated in Italy. It’s made by blending aged Italian brandy with sugar, fine spirits and a touch of citrus and vanilla essences. In other words, it’s pretty fancy stuff. It’s also pretty dang delicious and great in a variety of cocktails. I also recently had a Tuaca Hot Apple Pie – Tuaca mixed with apple cider and topped with whipped cream. In other words, the perfect fall cocktail. The Tuaca y Pina is next on my list.

You know, I’ve been wondering the same thing about the trend level of the moscow mule – is it because gold is such a trendy color, so it’s all about the mugs and how cute they look in peoples’ trendy homes? I think that’s what it is. ANYWAY – I’ve got to try this variation. Only 3 ingredients?! I’m sold!
