Webersburg is a great option for a luxurious and romantic South Africa Wine Country hotel. Its Dutch Colonial buildings are more than 200 years old.
A trip to Cape Town wouldn’t be complete without a few days in South Africa’s wine country. It’s only a 30 minute drive from of the city and has some of the most incredible wines we’ve ever had.
We spent two days exploring Stellenboch and Franschhoek. More on that later.
Our home base was Webersburg Estate in Stellenboch. The farm it sits on was established in 1693, with the estate itself built in 1786. When you’re falling asleep at night it’s kind of crazy to think about the other people who might have done so over the last two hundred years.
Check out that rose print headboard! The room decor and all of those great antiques made our stay feel even more authentic. Don’t be fooled by the simple decor though, this place earns its five stars. The bed was absolutely heavenly and the kitchenette in the room had everything from a French press to fresh flowers.
Oh, and that brunch spread! Hellooooo, gorgeous. It looks like a still life, doesn’t it?
Their lunch menu is just as delicious, and has everything from burgers to oysters. Their wines are also exceptional and only made in limited quantities. The estate has a rich history, with wine being made their for more than two hundred years. We did a tasting and ending up bringing back a precious few bottles to enjoy here and remember our stay.
