Here’s another quick and easy DIY I did for our wedding. I used vintage drawer pulls for place card holders. I found these beautiful vintage drawer pulls while I was traveling in India. I walked into this small, dusty antique shop in Delhi and there they were. It was like fate!
The right kind of drawer pull for this DIY has a washer and a bolt that go through the entire knob. Just loosen the bolt and slip the place card in, then tighten it back up! That’s it!
Our guests loved the place cards and many ending up taking them home for a memory. We got a used armoire on Craigslist and I “upcycled” it with some of the drawer pulls that people didn’t take home!
You can find vintage drawer knobs on Etsy. Another great place to look is Anthropologie. Their drawer pulls are usually pretty expensive, around $10 each, but they go on sale and you can usually get them for $3-4 if you are patient.
This isn’t the final place setting, just one that I set up at home, but you get the idea:
To make the place cards themselves, I used an embossing gun, embossing powder and the same stamp that I used for several other wedding DIY’s. You can see more here and here.
Buying one rubber stamp and using it on all of the paper products at our wedding was an inexpensive way to create consistency throughout the wedding design. My very talented mother-in-law did the lettering for the guests’ names.
Thanks to our friend Steve for the photos!
