A confetti cake birthday cocktail recipe that tastes just like the real thing! Only has three ingredients and works over ice in a glass or as a martini. The best part is the festive sprinkle rim!
I turned 33 in April.
I wish I could tell you I feel more comfortable in my skin than I ever have been.
I wish I could tell you how fulfilled I am to be ‘aging gracefully’ and that getting older doesn’t scare the crap out of me.
I wish I could tell you that I don’t analyze and critique every crease and crevice when I stand in front of the mirror.
In reality, there are so many days when I don’t feel ‘enough’. Fast enough, smart enough, thin enough, young enough, kind enough. And that’s all complicated by feelings of being frustrated for even having these feelings!
If self-acceptance is a journey, then I’m still trying to get my hiking boots tied.
Still, there are things I am grateful for every day.
I’m grateful to have two amazing careers that push me and fulfill me. ????????? I’m grateful to have an amazing partner who loves me and goes out of his way to make me feel beautiful even on those days of self-doubt.
I’m grateful for my health. Just having legs that allow me to run and complain about not running fast enough is a privilege.
I’m grateful just for the ability to get out of bed each day because I take care of children in the ICU who will never be able to do something so simple.
I’m grateful to you for reading this, for being part of this adventure with me and for the community that we have formed here.
I’m grateful to have another year to use to its fullest. They wouldn’t call it a journey if it was easy, so this year I’m going to keep taking small steps towards being more comfortable in my 33-year-old skin.

While I ponder my aging existence and work towards self acceptance, you can also find me sipping on one of these delicious birthday cocktails that taste as close to birthday cake as you can get!
My favorite thing about the cocktail is the rim covered with sprinkles. You can use any sprinkle you’d like but I love the way these confetti quins look. When you’re rimming the cocktail glass not to use too much corn syrup or it will starts to run down the side of the glass and you’ll lose your sprinkles.
Why this Confetti Cake Birthday Cocktail Recipe is Awesome:
- It’s easy to make and only has three ingredients.
- There’s nothing more fun and festive than a sprinkle rimmed glass!
- Flexibility – works great as a martini or served in a regular cocktail glass over ice.
- Also works great with a number of whipped cream or cake flavored vodkas. I included a few brands that make these flavors in the recipe card.

I’m sorry to jump topics. I commented on a much older blog several months ago and never got a reply. Do you happen to remember how many plates you could do with each can of spray paint? I know it was six years ago.
