If you’re looking for a beautiful hotel in Okinawa, Japan with a focus on wellness, great food and excellent service, try Mahaina Resort in Motobu.

Review of Mahaina Wellness Resort in Montobu, Okinawa, JapanAfter two days of glamping at Nanma Mui, we checked in to Mahaina Wellness Resort in Motobu, Okinawa. Mahaina has something for everyone. You’ll find amazing food with multiple restaurants offering different dining options, spacious rooms, scenic views and even a traditional Japanese spa.

Read on for my review and my Okinawa travel video:

The rooms are very large, clean and comfortable, with plain decor. My bed was absolutely massive (two queens pushed together) and very comfortable. The bathrooms are very modern and include a fancy Japanese-style toilet. It had more buttons that I knew what to do with!Review of Mahaina Wellness Resort in Montobu, Okinawa, Japan

Many hotels in Okinawa do not have information in English, but Mahaina had an excellent information sheet that explained all the available amenities. The staff also spoke English and were very helpful.

All of the rooms look out over the courtyard and pool. If possible, I would recommend upgrading to a room in a higher floor. The ocean view in the background is absolutely worth it!Review of Mahaina Wellness Resort in Montobu, Okinawa, JapanReview of Mahaina Wellness Resort in Montobu, Okinawa, Japan

One of the highlights of Mahaina is their food. They have multiple restaurants, including an amazing buffet breakfast in Marsen restaurant. It has everything from traditional Japanese foods to Western favorites like eggs and french fries.

For dinner, check out Shinka restaurant. You can try my favorite Japanese meal – hotpot, as well as many other Okinawan and Japanese dishes. Our meal was one of the highlights of the trip.

As a part of their approach to wellness, Mahaina also offers activities like Nordic walking. I took their intro class, which was pretty fun. Here we are learning about the importance of stretching:

It’s an absolutely stunning place with a combination of leafy green treetops and ocean views. This is definitely worth a visit even if you don’t stay at Mahaina Hotel.

Mahaina Wellness Resort has a traditional Japanese bathhouse (onsen). Use is included in your stay. Other amenities include a free shuttle to the ocean park, snorkeling tours, a library and a small gift shop. I loved that if you forego cleaning for your room, you get a $10 coupon to use in the gift shop. I’m always grateful when hotels do small things to help the environment.

One of the best resorts. Japanese peoples are amazing. Here you can find 2000-year-old tradition or technology that is more advanced than anywhere else. This country is amazing and this resort is a 5 star.
