Cranberry Old Fashioned

This cranberry old fashioned recipe is a fun twist on the traditional old fashioned. It’s easy to make and perfect for the holidays.

Friends, are you in the holiday spirit yet? A few weeks ago I had the chance to collaborate on a fun video project with my friends at nousDECOR, a community-curated decor idea site. I created this delicious cranberry old fashioned as a nod to my Wisconsin roots, where the drink is so popular there’s actually a bar of the same name! We also created a rustic tablescape with a modern twist to go with. The project was so much fun and I’m so proud of how the video and the recipe came out.

Hop on over to the nousDECOR blog to see how to put together a pretty modern tablescape for your holiday party. To get a printable version of the cranberry old fashioned recipe, see below…. Read More »

Half United // Fashion That Feeds

Fight Hunger + Half United Jewelry

When I first heard about Half United, I was impressed by their jewelry designs. They are the perfect mix of feminine and edgy, and completely unlike anything in my jewelry drawer right now. Then I heard about the mission behind the designs. Half United donates half of their profits to provide meals to children. They have provided 140,000 meals in the last four years. Looking good and doing good? Now that’s something I can get behind…. Read More »

Chocolate Bourbon Balls

Absolutely delicious and so easy to make, these chocolate bourbon balls are the perfect holiday or hostess gift. Depending on the topping you choose, they are also naturally gluten free.
Easy and DELICIOUS Chocolate Bourbon Balls - an awesome Christmas gift!

Someone at Pat’s work made chocolate bourbon balls and he begged me for almost a week to re-create them. They are so easy to make and make a great holiday hostess gift or small thank you present. I’ve always been a bit in awe of truffles, but this version involves rolling slightly softened chocolate dough in your hands for a pretty yet professional rustic look. They are the perfect party companion for your homemade eggnog…. Read More »

Eatwell Harvest Fest

Eatwell Farm Harvest Fest :: Organic Softserve Ice Cream

Last weekend, Pat and I had the chance to stop by another Eatwell Farm event in San Francisco, their annual Harvest Fest! The Harvest Fest is a chance to stock up on fresh produce before Thanksgiving holiday and to check out crafts and fresh goods made by Eatwell CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) members. It was great to see the people behind Eatwell, Nigel and Lorraine, again and to eat some of Eatwells amazing organic softserve ice cream! This time there was seasonal spiced pumpkin and sweet potato softserve on tap! It was amazing, obviously.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Colombia River + Multnomah Falls Oregon

Our last stop on our Oregon trip was just before we headed to the airport – Multnomah Falls. Multnomah Falls is one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever been. It’s a 611 foot tall waterfall that is easily accessible by car, meaning it’s very crowded with people. Even so, it was easy to tune out the other visitors and just enjoy the sound of the waterfall and the fine icy mist that covers parts of the trail…. Read More »
