How to Use Snapchat as a Blogger

How to Use Snapchat for Bloggers - Tips & Ideas to increase your following

Snapchat is my favorite way to connect with friends and people who follow my blog. It used to be that Instagram was a way for me to show what was happening behind the scenes at A Side of Sweet. Now everything on Instagram has to be so carefully planned and edited it’s lost a lot of that fun and spontaneity. Snapchat is perfect for life behind the filter. It’s actually ‘insta’ and you have to post content as you take it. … Read More »

Easy Mediterranean Dip Appetizer

Gluten FreeVegetarian

A super easy Mediterranean dip appetizer recipe. Healthy and gluten-free, it’s made with feta, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and herbs.

Healthy Gluten Free Easy Mediterranean Dip Appetizer RecipeToday’s recipe is actually inspired by a Mediterranean dip that Whole Foods make. It’s one of those recipes that they always have samples of in store. I make it past the cheese odds & ends and there it is, impossible to resist. Trying to resist just loading up one cracker and not turn my sample into the whole container is quite a feat.

As tempting as it may be to buy the Whole Foods version, I ended up making a copycat dip at home instead. With just a mix of simple, fresh ingredients like feta, herbs and sun-dried tomatoes. Nothing fancy, but so delicious! It’s a perfect healthy snack or an awesome appetizer dip. And what’s not to like about a recipe with one line of instructions? … Read More »

Amazing Appetizer Recipe :: Pesto Cream Cheese Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

Last minute small-bites

Have you ever had one of those moments when you realize that life has gotten so busy it’s been ages since you’ve seen your friends? It recently hit me that, because of our South Africa trip and long hours at work, it had been weeks!

Because one of my only days off was after this realization, we decided to send out a quick email blast to see what all of our long lost (ok, maybe not that long) peeps were up to.

Due to the fact that everything was so last minute, I didn’t really have a chance to do the normal party-prep things like go grocery shopping or spend three days cooking to get ready. (Yes, my typical entertaining style is to prep days in advance.)

Not this time though. These cream cheese pesto stuffed cherry tomato bites were different. They were ready in minutes and made with ingredients that I already had in the fridge. Totally do-able at the last minute.

Babylonstoren Gardens Fraenschhoek, South Africa

You have to visit Babylonstoren if you travel to Cape Town, South Africa’s wine country. They have an amazing restaurant, beautiful hotel and their wine is tops!

Things to do in Cape Town, South Africa Wine Country

Babylonstoren Farm & Gardens was definitely one of the highlights of our South African wine country trip. The farm was established in 1692, and many buildings still stand. Gravity feeds stream water into the garden by waterways, just like farming was done centuries ago. Ducks and chickens wander the properties and there are hives of bees nestled among the gardens…. Read More »

Setting up a dessert bar literally takes five extra minutes – no-bake and no-fail. Just toss a bunch of toppings into small bowls and you have a party. I was inspired to make these recently for my friend Ally’s birthday. Needless to say, they were a huge hit.
